The End Of The British Government ’We The People’?

So, now we have a new situation. The old imperial system—and, some people may disagree with this, but there’s only one empire on this planet. It’s the British Empire. It’s not the empire of the British people; it’s the empire of an international monetarist system. And it’s the monetarist system, which is the empire.

The advantage of the United States in this, is that the United States is not a monetarist nation. We do not believe, in our Constitutional system, in monetarism. We believe in a credit system. It is a feature of our Constitution, which is lacking in Europe. And our crucial role, as was the case with Franklin Roosevelt, our crucial role in society, is to promote this kind of change, away from a monetarist system, which is the true form of imperialism. Many people talk about imperialism; they use the label for many things. Mostly, it’s nonsense, scientifically. There’s only one kind of imperialism we’ve known, in European experience during the past 3,000 years, and that is monetarism, as such. And that’s what we have to destroy.

Yes, there is a British domination of the planet, controlling the monetary system, as such, in the tradition of Keynes, and so forth. We have to eliminate that. But, we have to replace it with something, and this means going to a credit system, like that of the United States under Franklin Roosevelt, in which each nation’s credit system is sovereign. And you have cooperation, on a fixed exchange rate, among sovereign economies. We can cooperate in long-term creation of credit, for the fulfillment of these kinds of projects, which the present treaty-agreement between Russia and China signifies. That’s what I’m committed to. And I think that we, who are conscious of these goals, of these kinds of goals, we wish to defend the sovereignty of cultures, the sovereignty of nation-states. We can achieve that, provided we come to extend what has been agreed between China and Russia, extend that on a broader scale, as the beginning of a Pacific-oriented development of the planet as a whole. And at the same time, with a mission orientation toward the development of an industrial base on the Moon, which is indispensable for the task of the colonization of Mars.

And when mankind has reached the point, that we have developed the launching of the colonization of Mars, and know it’s going to work, then mankind has gone to an entirely new phase of its existence. The Glass Steagall Principle is a War Between British and US Interests

May 10, 2010 (LPAC)—Sunday saw a worsening of the collapse-crisis of the euro, with the British euro-bailout policy apparently claiming the government of German Chancellor Angela Merkel. The 27 fools of “Ecofin” — the finance ministers of the the so-called Eurozone countries, which have all bankrupted themselves by bailing out their banks while their revenues plunged in the crash — met all day in a race to announce as many as three new bank bailouts before the Asian markets opened on Monday, when a new stage of collapse is expected. Both British still-Prime Minister Gordon Brown, and British puppet Barack Obama, spent the weekend calling and pressuring Merkel for the new bailouts — which British Chancellor Alistair Darling said the UK intends to stay out of! The international rate for overnight lending among banks known as LIBOR, which had not changed by as much as one-hundredth of a point for eight months, suddenly doubled, and all the bank-money conditions of the early 2009 debt freezeup rose again from where they had been lurking just under the surface.

One action can suddenly and dramatically change the course of this disaster — an action by the United States, not Europe, and by Obama’s adversaries, not Obama. That is the adoption of the Glass-Steagall policy long demanded by the most important of Obama’s adversaries, economist and statesman Lyndon LaRouche.

LaRouche specified yesterday, as in Saturday’s webcast, that the Glass-Steagall principle is virtually a matter of war between Britain and U.S. constitutional interest: “The clear threat to the United States of this British crisis, goes away if the U.S. adopts the Glass-Steagall policy put forward by Senators McCain and Cantwell. If it were to adopt the Glass-Steagall principle, then the British policy evaporates. If we go with my proposal, all of the crap is off the table: The United States is saved, the Brits go to Hell, and the Europeans are off thepresenthook. Their problem is still there, but now the problem can have a solution.

“It’s now clear that some people were confused about this. Some people in the Democratic Party have opposed this, and the infection was spread from there. That’s over. Nobody should be confused. The Glass-Steagall proposal from McCain and Cantwell is fully consistent with my intention and my policy over a long period of time.

“The U.S. adopting or coming close to adopting the Glass- Steagall policy would mean the sinking of the British pound. If we don’t sink this British policy, we lose civilization.”

“There’s a virtual landslide for this, out in the mass strike among the American people. Get it through!”

On Monday, May 17, President Barack Obama met with Rahm Emanuel, and was informed by his chief of staff that a number of Democratic U.S. Senators were still insisting on the inclusion of the Glass-Steagall amendment and the restrictions on derivatives in the Dodd financial reform bill. Emanuel had been engaged in round-the-clock negotiations, over the weekend, with a group of Senators, attempting to cajole, bribe and threaten them into dropping their amendments, and letting the Dodd bill go to a final vote, unchanged. In characteristic Nero fashion, the President went absolutely berserk, and demanded that all such Senate insubordination be crushed immediately. He demanded that the Dodd bill be passed, as-is, by Thursday, May 20.

Over the course of the next 72 hours, on Obama’s orders, Emanuel, Larry Summers, Majority Leader Harry Reid, and Sen. Chris Dodd used every dirty trick in the book, to kill the Cantwell-McCain amendment, and the Lincoln-Cantwell amendment, which sought to reverse Dodd’s sabotage rewrite of the anti-derivatives measure already in the bill. The White House even crushed the Levin-Merkley amendment, that would have incorporated the so-called Volcker Rule, limiting certain activities by commercial banks—demonstrating that Obama’s professed public support for the Volcker reforms were themselves pure lies.

While other factors were clearly at play, including a desperate Wall Street and City of London drive to kill every effort to strengthen the final bill, none of those factors mitigate against President Obama’s own, personal role in virtually guaranteeing the total destruction of the United States in the immediate weeks and months ahead. He is accountable for his own actions, in killing off—for the moment—the restoration of Glass-Steagall and the banning of derivatives, the only two actions that could, at this late date, save the United States economy from a total collapse. Obama’s deeds well surpass the “high crimes and misdemeanors” standard for impeachment.

Polling data from the immediate 24-hour period following the Senate’s shameful Thursday night vote for the Dodd bill, without taking up the Cantwell-McCain amendment, the Cantwell-Lincoln derivatives language, or even the Levin-Merkley “Volcker Rule,” revealed that the overwhelming majority of Americans saw through the President’s lies and realized that the bill was a complete piece of filth. Democratic voters who participated in the poll said they were sick and tired of the fake rhetoric and the lecturing. The across-the-board repudiation of the Dodd bill, and the posturing by the Senate leadership, and particularly the President, clearly registered among some of the President’s top White House aides. Reportedly, Rahm Emanuel contacted Rep. Barney Frank, who was crowing in public about how he and Sen. Dodd were going to ram through the final House-Senate version of the bill by the Fourth of July, and ordered him, in his typical expletive-laden language to shut his mouth.

It cuts to the center of the strategic battle between the British financial empire, and the American System of economics, which is a model for all truly sovereign nation-states.

It is lawful that the center of this battle would be Wall Street. Wall Street has been a center of treason throughout the history of the United States, and functions, in fact, as an army of the British empire. The sophism that the health of “Main Street” (the physical economy on which the standard of living of the American people is based) depends upon the health of “Wall Street,” as President Obama has argued, is more than ludicrous—and most of the American people know it.

In fact, the rage of the U.S. population against Wall Street’s rip-offs, and the bailouts given to the international banks, is only growing. As a result of the collaboration of a network of prosecutors, such as New York State’s Attorney General Andrew Cuomo, Securities and Exchange Commission head Mary Shapiro, and others, Goldman Sachs’s crimes were brought up before public hearings. Now, prosecutions are multiplying, with Federal criminal investigations of virtually all the big Wall Street banks, for trading against the interests of their clients—and, one might honestly say, their country.

Over just the last week, Attorney General Cuomo announced several new probes, including of U.S. branches of several major European banks. He is also looking into manipulation by the rating agencies, a criminal practice, well known from the outbreak of the current breakdown crisis in 2007. (Remember, AAA ratings for junk?)

Under Glass-Steagall regulations, the problem of these banks can be easily taken care of. Entities such as JPMorgan Chase and Citibank will have to decide whether they will be commercial banks, or investment (gambling) houses. If the latter, they will no longer have government protection—and they, and their illegitimate debts, will disappear. Legitimate banking functions, however, will be protected—and banks that practice those will be opened up to be lenders for the kinds of massive infrastructure projects we so desperately need.

This is the only pathway to recovery, and it lies within the grasp of the American people, if they listen to Lyndon LaRouche. Restoring Glass-Steagall is the first step toward realizing the prosperity, at home and abroad, which Franklin D. Roosevelt envisioned after World War II. The British sabotaged that vision then; they must not be allowed to do so again.

Whats the status of The Glass Steagall Act?

As the U.S. economy and financial system continue to careen into the breakdown crisis, there are four pieces of legislation before the U.S. Congress — one in the Senate and three in the House of Representatives — which would revive FDR’s Glass-Steagall provisions.

All three of the House bills, which were introduced in December 2009, were referred to Barney Frank’s Financial Services Committee, where they have yet to receive a hearing. This is on top of the fact that Frank personally refused to permit one of the bills, that by New York Democrat Maurice Hinchey, to be added to the House Financial Reform bill as an amendment.

The three House bills are: H.R. 4375, The Glass-Steagall Restoration Act, introduced by Hinchey and joined by 14 co-sponsors; H.R. 4377, The Return to Prudent Banking Act, introduced by Rep. Marci Kaptur (D-OH), with 2 co-sponsors; and H.R. 4461, the Banking Integrity Act, introduced by Rep. John Dingell (D-MI), with no co-sponsors.

The Senate bill, as is well known, is that introduced by Senators Maria Cantwell (D-WA) and John McCain (R-AZ), called the Banking Integrity Act (S. 2886), with 6 co-sponsors.

There is, of course, one simple way to move the Glass-Steagall bill in the House, and that is to remove the major immediate obstacle to its passage: Barney Frank.
