Establishment Republicans are insisting on 6 more years of the badly misnamed “Patriot Act.”

Six more years of giving agencies like the ATF and DHS the authority to name anyone and everyone they wish as a “terrorist.”

These are the same Republicans who ran for office with a stance on “limited government.”

The only things “limited” by the so-called Patriot Act are the rights of people like you and me.

H.R. 1800, the bill introduced last Friday, would extend until December of 2017.

This Fourth Amendment shredding act allows the authorities to tap your phone and intrude on your privacy just by the simple act of labeling you as a “domestic terrorist.”

But this extension would give them six more years of being able to do just exactly that.

• Roving, warrantless wiretaps of virtually EVERY form of electronic communication used by U.S. citizens.

• Secret federal searches without warrants OR knowledge of the resident.

• Blanket warrants for the search and seizure of all library records, without naming individual suspects or providing probable cause.

• Judicial warrants replaced with “National Security Letters” signed by unaccountable Obama Administration bureaucrats and gag orders for those served with these letters which make it illegal to tell anyone about it — including your spouse and your priest!

• Drastic expansion of the definition of “domestic terrorism,” which is sure to include gun owners.

• Expands asset seizure to permit the taking of assets from anyone “suspected” of terrorism, even if that person is NEVER charged or sent to trial.

• Lone wolf provisions which allow the government to spy on ANYONE even if they’re not associated with a terrorist organization or foreign national, without due process or notification.

And the fact that House Republicans, who are supposedly on the “right” side, brought this to the floor makes me wonder about their true loyalties.

The information on Islamic training camps in the USA begins with Weasel Zippers, which quoted February 17 from the Shelbyville, Tennessee Times Gazette articleIslamic subversion alleged by speaker. The Tennessee newspaper provides a write up about the speech delivered by former FBI special agent, John Guandolo, who told “law enforcement and Homeland Security personnel that a network of Islamic organizations are working to incrementally implement Islamic law in the United States.”

On October 17, 2007, the Center for Security Policy paid tribute to John Guandolo, one of six Defenders of the Home Front honorees, stating:

Special Agent John Guandolo of the Federal Bureau of Investigations: A decorated U.S. Marine combat veteran of Desert Storm, Special Agent Guandolo has worked in the FBI since 1996 including nine years as a member of its SWAT team.

Since shortly after 9/11, he has worked in the Bureau’s Washington Field Office’s Counterterrorism Division, developing a legendary expertise concerning Al Qaeda, Muslim Brotherhood organizations and the broad subversive Islamist movement in the U.S. Special Agent Guandolo was recognized for his efforts to educate his colleagues and others in the law enforcement and intelligence communities about these subjects.

In his talk, Guandolo warned the group:

Every major Muslim organization is controlled by the Muslim Brotherhood, the former FBI agent said, which he said was formed to overthrow America and establish Islamic law. [...]

He said that Muslim groups will demand concessions on matters by saying, “You have to do this; you have to do this or I will be offended.”

“The solution to this is you,” Guandolo said. “If you are looking to DHS, the FBI and Congress to solve this … you’re going to be woefully disappointed.”

He said that FBI agents in the field “are working good cases,” but that the FBI leadership “is unwilling to do what the agents are asking them to do, which is to pony up and use some courage and start stepping on these people.”

“This is political subversion, this is an insurgency in the United States,” he said of the Islamic movement. “Insurgency is thwarted at the local level and the tip of the spear is local police.”

Guandolo also said that the group CAIR, the Council on American-Islamic Relations, is actually a front for the terror group Hamas.

He also said that he was threatened with his job no less than three times by superiors in the FBI “that told me we were creating waves in the Muslim community.”

Guandolo also said to watch what is happening in Great Britain, where Islamic radicalism has taken root. He noted that [Geert Wilders] a member of the Danish Parliament was recently denied entry into the United Kingdom for fear that it would offend Muslims.

“They denied him access while at the same time, Islamic law is being instituted on the streets of Great Britain,” he said.

Guandolo presented the documentary Homegrown Jihad: The Terrorist Camps Around the U.S. produced by the Christian Action Network (CAN), which premiered February 11 in Washington, DC.

Guandolo continues:

The group describes its purpose as “to protect America’s religious and moral heritage through intensive lobbying efforts — both in the nation’s capital and at the grass roots level.”

They claim that for the past two years, members have “been on location, deep inside hidden Islamic terrorist training compounds, scattered across the United States.”

The terror group is called Jamaat ul-Fuqra, but is known in America as Muslims of America, which CAN alleges is a front organization for Pakistani Islamic cleric Sheikh Mubarak Ali Shah Gilani.

At least seven such communities are active today, in Hancock, N.Y.; Red House, Va.; Tulare County, Calif.; Commerce, Ga.; York, S.C.;

Dover, Tenn.

; and Combermere, Canada. While some of these enclaves contain only rudimentary buildings and trailers, the California compound has 300 residents on a 440-acre spread, according to a recent report by a local ABC station. Residents deny any involvement with terror, but Fuqra has a history of getting into trouble with the law.

Over the years, at least a dozen Fuqra members have been convicted of

crimes

including conspiracy to commit murder, firebombing, gun smuggling, and workers’ compensation fraud in the United States or Canada. And Fuqra members are suspects in at least 10 unsolved assassinations and 17 firebombings between 1979 and 1990. [...]

Harder to document publicly but affirmed by several investigators and intelligence sources are the group’s continuing links with guerrilla training in Pakistan. But then elusiveness is the order of the day for an organization whose members are well versed in the use of aliases; whose structure, shrouded behind front groups, is a network of safe houses and cells; and whose founder and members consistently maintain that it doesn’t exist.

The Colorado Attorney General John W. Suthers, Colorado Department of Law, reported as recently as 2008:

Colorado’s investigation indicated that the United States FUQRA movement was composed of approximately 30 different ‘Jamaats’ or communities, somewhat mobile in nature. Most of these ‘Jamaats’ are believed to currently exist today, along with what investigators deemed to be several ‘covert paramilitary training compounds’ — one of which had been located in a remote mountainous area near Buena Vista, Colorado prior to Colorado’s prosecutions in the mid-1990s. [...]

It is believed the activities of UL FUQRA across the nation continue. Just recently the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco & Firearms (BATF) arrested one of the former Colorado defendants and FUQRA member, Vincente Rafael Pierre, in Virginia on alleged ammunition violations.

In California, a FUQRA member was arrested on the suspected murder of a Fresno County Deputy Sheriff this last August.

In addition, FUQRA operates something called the Quranic Open University in Los Angeles, which has received over $1.5 million dollars over the course of the last two years in charter school funding.

This entity is also located in New York City and Philadelphia. There are believed to be active UL FUQRA training compounds still existing in New York, Michigan, South Carolina, California, and perhaps other states.

FUQRA or its members have been investigated for alleged terrorist actsincluding murder and arson in New York, Detroit, Philadelphia, Toronto, Denver, Los Angeles and Tucson.

UL FUQRA is suspected of more than thirteen firebombings and, at least, as many murders within the United States.

CAN asserts that one of these compounds is near Dover, in rural Stewart County. The site was the subject of a 2002 Tennessean article about the small Muslim community. [...]

The documentary cites a Justice Department document from 2006 that exposed 35 compounds in the U.S., which the group alleges are used for terrorist training. The document was marked “Dissemination Restricted to Law Enforcement” and was not supposed to be released to the public.

CAN claims that all copies of Sheik Muburak Gilani‘s terrorist training video, “Soldiers of Allah,” had been confiscated and sealed except for a copy the Christian organization obtained.

In the documentary, Gilani is shown saying “We are fighting to destroy the enemy. We are dealing with evil at its roots and its roots are America.”

The alleged training video also shows men taught how to use AK-47s, rocket launchers, and machine guns, as well as how to kidnap and kill Americans, how to conduct sabotage and subversive operations, and instructions on the use mortars and explosives.

CAN also wants to have Jamaat ul-Fuqra placed on the State Department’s Foreign Terrorist Organization Watch List, which would shut down the camps.
