The U.S. Air Force as you know it no longer exists: beginning today, 17 combat units grounded April 9, 2013

According to internal documents obtained by Air Force Times, beginning on Apr. 9, 2013, the U.S. Air Force will begin grounding front line combat units as a consequence of sequestration and the need to deal with budget cuts.

Seventeen squadrons belonging to the various U.S. Air Force commands are going to be affected by the stand down order.

Domestic abuse is a seemingly daily occurrence in Gallatin County. Calls to Bozeman police and Gallatin County deputies paint the picture:

• At noon Saturday a son called police after he and his mother were punched by the son’s stepfather.

• Later that day, an argument forced a woman to leave her 2-year-old with her boyfriend, who had possibly been using meth.

• At 8 p.m., deputies responded to a 911 hang-up call after hearing a man screaming obscenities in the background. Upon arrival, deputies were met by a man with a firearm. The man was arrested for domestic assault.

Hundreds of disillusioned Anglicans are expected to defect to the Roman Catholic Church in time for Lent.

It follows a campaign by Father Keith Newton to leave the Church of England in protest at its stance on the ordination of women and gay clergy.

Fr Newton has encouraged Anglicans to join the Ordinariate – a special branch of Catholicism established by the Pope – to welcome protestant defectors.
