Hamas and its allies, acting now on Hizballah guidelines from Lebanon, fired 24 heavy Grad missiles and more than 50 mortars shells at seven southern Israeli towns in an expanding radius up to Palmahim in the north. Despite bomb shelters and home guard measures, 20 Israelis were injured or suffered shock. After 17 Hamas and other commanders were targeted in 48 hours of Israel counter-attacks, Hamas requested a ceasefire through the UN. It came from the Islamist organization’s political echelons. Israel replied the request would only be addressed only if it came from Hamas military leaders, who rather than abating their rocket offensive on the Israeli population are intensifying it.
The Palestinian missile violence Saturday began before dawn with Grad missiles exploding north of Israel’s second main port city of Ashdod, south of Kiryat Gat and outside Ofakim. Sirens warning of a missile attack were heard in Gedera and Gan Yavneh. As a million Israeli civilians spent another day in bomb shelters, four Grad missiles landed in Ashkelon Saturday afternoon.
From Thursday, the innovative Iron Dome anti-missile system intercepted five of the Grad missiles aimed at Beersheba, Ashdod and Ashkelon. Early Saturday, as 25 Palestinian mortar shells hailed down on the Eshkol district, the IDF hit a car carrying three Hamas field commanders in Khan Younis. They were all killed. DEBKAfile’s military sources report that Israel’s defense chiefs are reassessing tactics in view of the newly ferocious level of Hamas belligerence under direction from Hizballah.
DEBKAfile reported earlier: Friday night, April 8, more than 60 Hamas and Jihad Islami mortar shells and missiles hit Israeli towns, villages and farms on the Israeli side of the Gaza border and injured a civilian. This heightened Israeli fury over Hamas’s attack on a school bus Thursday, April 7, using a sophisticated Cornet anti-tank missile for the first time. A 16-year old boy was critically wounded. This attack was followed by 50 Palestinian rockets and mortar rounds, a blitz which had not abated by Friday night despite constant Israeli counteraction.
DEBKAfile discloses the mounting violence has more than one objective: Hamas is trying to establish new rules for the conflict on advice and directives coming from its Lebanese ally, Hizballah, to step up its barrage on Israel by 25 percent. The IDF is forced to respond to the resulting escalation in kind.
Our intelligence sources report that Hamas was advised by Hizballah to blitz Israel into relinquishing the 500-meter deep security strip the IDF established inside the Gaza border when Palestinian fire on Israel continued after it was temporarily reduced by the 2009 Cast Lead operation.
Hizballah leaders are telling Hamas they should be able to bring their forward and firing positions right up to the Israeli border, a convenience enjoyed by HIzballah on the Lebanese-Israeli frontier ever since 2000 when Israel quit southern Lebanon.
The IDF is fighting to hold on to this buffer zone to keep Palestinian terrorists back from breaching the border for direct attacks in Israel. The soldiers keep Palestinian gunmen from accessing this strip of land and impose restrictions on Gazan farmers seeking to till their fields in a strip which covers 15 percent of the enclave’s arable land. (Farmers of the Eshkol district on the other side of the border are regularly targeted for attack.)
Hamas is threatening to raise the cross-border violence until Israeli troops pull back to the border. Its anti-tank missile attack on the school bus Thursday was the opening shot of its battle for the buffer zone.
The IDF’s tactics for countering Hamas aggression remain unchanged, except in scale: In the last 48 hours, Israeli helicopters, mortars, tanks and naval units have been pounding the Gaza Strip while Hamas releases barrages of dozens of missile and mortar attacks on villages and towns – practically without pause. Israeli civilians were told to stay close to bomb shelters in the days to come. Schools, road traffic, public transport and businesses will function intermittently.
Israeli military planners are still playing the familiar tit-for-tat game which never in the past stopped the aggression from Gaza. Nevertheless, DEBKAfile’s military sources point to some notable differences in the current round.
The Iron Dome system designed in Israel to intercept short-range rockets was experimentally deployed in the important towns of Beersheba and Ashkelon this week. Friday, the system intercepted three missiles aimed at Ashkelon, although it caught only one of several Thursday.

The IDF importantly demonstrated it is fully capable of launching another major military campaign in the Gaza Strip. The broad scale of its land, sea and air reprisals since Thursday, April 7, was intended to remind Hamas and its allies, especially the Iranian-backed Jihad Islami, of the devastation wrought the enclave they rule by Israel’s 2009 Cast Lead operation.
A possible Cast Lead II was in the air after Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu said Thursday during a visit to Prague: Attacks on children cross a red line. Those who carry out such attacks should know that their blood is on their heads.”
On the other side of the ledger, the new rulers of Egypt are in the process of unraveling Hosni Mubarak’s peace relations with Israel – as DEBKAfile has reported – and engaging in rapprochement with the Gaza and Damascus centers of the two radical Palestinian organizations.
Since the Israeli government has not adjusted its policies to the new developments, its military tactics are operating in a vacuum and will have little deterrent effect. The current upsurge of Hamas-Jihad aggression will therefore go on.
DEBKAfile’s military experts maintain that the tactics of massive firepower without ground operations have run their course. There is no way to wipe out the increasingly sophisticated heavy weapons arsenal Hamas has been allowed to amass from the air. So the half a million Israeli civilians of the Western Negev and the southern coastal towns must continue to live under their shadow instead of having normal lives. Often, many cannot make it to work and schools, places of business and traffic can operate only intermittently.
Since Thursday, IDF operations have been sweeping across a broad front in the Gaza Strip from the old air field at Dahaniyeh in the south up to the northern fringes of Gaza City.
In the south, Khan Younes and Deir al Balakh took the severest beating. The former went dark Thursday night after Israeli airborne and surface missiles knocked out the local electricity grid. In Deir Balakh, a Hamas base built deliberately near a hospital took an airborne rocket, a signal that all such facilities would no longer be immune from attack.
In the Gaza City region, Israeli helicopters, tanks and naval ships bombed two main Hamas military installations – Abu Jerad and Rantisi.
The Palestinians reported 10 killed, including the commander of missile operations at the Shati refugee camp, and scores wounded, thereupon loosing off 50 missiles and mortar rounds – as usual, against civilian locations. In Ashkelon, Iron Dome intercepted its first missile Thursday, but missed the rest – scoring a partial success
For the first time in three years, Hamas appealed to Cairo to broker a ceasefire. Israeli did not bother to respond since the rulers of Gaza have violated every agreed ceasefire in the past. Hamas reached out to the new Egyptian regime following its moves towards a rapprochement and a Palestinian diplomatic initiative.
DEBKAfile’s intelligence sources disclose that last week, the head of Egypt’s intelligence services Maj. Gen. Mourad Mowafi visited Damascus. He obtained permission from Syria’s beleaguered president Bashar Assad to meet Hamas’ political leader Khaled Meshaal and Abdullah Ramadan Salah of the Palestinian Jihad Islami and hand them an invitation to visit Cairo.

RUSH: This debt commission report, Irksome Bowles, Alan Simpson, forget it. It’s worthless. The premise is totally corrupt. Don’t get caught up in debating any of the minutia or the aspects of this thing. It’s a setup; it is a trap. All it does is cement the notion of expanded government spending ad infinitum. I’ll give you a couple of reasons why I’m saying this but I’m not gonna waste my time like I see ‘em doing on the news networks dissecting this stuff. There’s nothing bold about it. There’s nothing revolutionary about it. It’s a trick.

RUSH: The unions are beside themselves. The unions cannot believe what’s happening. Because the ratio in this deficit commission report, the ratio of spending cuts to tax increases is 75 to 25. That alone makes me think the whole thing’s a trap. Seventy-five percent of the “savings” are spending cuts. Twenty-five percent of the revenue changes are tax increases. Well, Pelosi’s looking at that, Durbin is looking at that, and they say, “Whoa, there is no way!” The unions are going bonkers. Our guys are kinda getting sucked in here on the Republican side. “There’s… Well, you know, you have to look at it. There’s some potential here, maybe some things to work with.”
The dirty little secret about this is that what it does is establish as a premise the notion of gigantic government. Right after the break, I’m gonna explain this to you. There was a great post at Ricochet.com, which is a new blog out there by Peter Robinson, and there’s a post by a guy named Steve Manacek, who has analyzed this and has come up with some absolutely scary analysis. Well, it’s not analysis. He has found scary admissions in this thing such as the level of government spending expressed as a percentage of GDP. It’s skyrocketing under this proposal. So all this talk about spending cuts, it’s smoke and mirrors. Anyway, if Obama has blinked he can be made to blink again. If we stand firm.

RUSH: From Politico… This is not good. I mean, you’ve got Richard Trumka out there, union thug leader, pronouncing the details of the deficit proposal as “unconscionable.” Working Americans are taking it on the chin here, getting the shaft. The unions don’t like it, Dick Durbin doesn’t like it, they’re “tax cuts for the rich,” and now this from Politico: “President Barack Obama failed to reach agreement on two international deals to help spur the U.S. …”
Now, just this morning I read that Obama was close to just taking over that G20. He was having his way with those members, and he was gonna make sure that jobs were created for the American people by virtue of his command of the issues and his leadership capability — and now all of a sudden he’s a nonentity, from Politico. And they’ve got an inside track to this bunch. “President Obama failed to reach agreement on two international deals to help spur the U.S. economy, unexpected setbacks on an Asia trip that was supposed to emphasize Obama’s stature abroad and change the subject from last week’s electoral drubbing.” Emphasize his stature abroad? He doesn’t have any!
You people in the Drive-Bys tried to create this notion, this image, this aura of stature. How…? Would you explain to me how it is that these worldwide leaders at the G20 are gonna think a guy arriving two days after having his party wiped out in midterm elections has any stature. I don’t follow the logic. What are these guys over there supposed to say? Lula in Brazil, the South Korean guy, what are they supposed to say? “Oh, my gosh! Make way, here comes The Messiah. Here comes Obama. He just got creamed in the midterm elections, but make way for Obama. I don’t know if we have the ability to even be in the same room.” Who are we kidding here? The Democrats in this country, Democrats in the Senate know they elected a mistake. They know they’ve got something untenable in the White House.
Look, there’s even more in this in the Stack of Stuff coming up. There’s even more. We’re talking about this on MSNBC. I gave you the low down on this on Monday. People are still talking about the debacle that Obama is for the Democrat Party. This notion he’s gonna have stature over there in the G20? “Obama was unable to achieve a free trade agreement with South Korea.” South Korea! “Vowing to keep talking to get a better deal for US automakers.” What does he need South Korea for? Have you heard the big news? GE has said there are gonna be 25,000 Volts — big whoop — 12,000 of them in the first phase. This is all about trying to get the IPO price up. So General Electric is gonna buy cars.
You people that work for GE who get a company car, aren’t you excited? Pretty soon you’re gonna be driving a Volt. It gets 40 miles to the charge. (laughs) I’m trying to be nice here. So Obama was unable to achieve a free trade agreement with South Korea, and after meeting with the leaders of Germany and the ChiComs, “he continued to meet resistance from the two countries about reducing their trade surpluses with the US to give a boost to American manufacturing, putting the best face on a compromise that only calls for the goal of lowering them.” One of the things I think that we’re all messed up on here is when we look at our economy and these guys in charge of fixing it are missing the one key, most important element. Everybody’s focusing on exports.
“We got a trade imbalance with the ChiComs. They’re exporting to us and we gotta figure out a way to export to them.” No! We gotta figure out a way to create American customers, period, for anything. You can sit around and you can print all the money you want. You can do QE2, QE3, you can go up to QE15. You can do all the magic wands you want. Until you create consumer demand for anything in this country, you can whistle Dixie about having export parity with the ChiComs. Back in June, by the way… You may have forgotten this. Back in June Obama was the only G20 leader who refused to pledge to cut their government deficits by half. So here you have General Electric buying 25,000 Volts and the ChiComs are buying stock in General Motors.
And we’re running around printing money and we got a deficit commission panel, which essentially is establishing the notion of an ever larger government. Let me get to that right now. I’ve teased you with this. This is Steve Manacek, “What am I missing?” This is yesterday a post at Ricochet.com. “The National Commission on Fiscal Responsibility and Reform has released its co-chair’s proposal.” By the way, the membership didn’t even know they were gonna do it. The other commissioners had no idea that Irksome Bowles and Alan Simpson Babe were gonna release this thing. Durbin, by the way, Dick Durbin, is one of the commissioners. And he was fit to be tied. He didn’t know they were gonna do this.
“A lot of introductory verbiage could have come straight from the mouth of Ronald Reagan. Cut and invest to promote economic growth, cut spending we simply can’t afford wherever we find it, reform and simplify the tax code, broaden the base, lower rates, bring down the deficit.” I shared all this with you yesterday, and so on. “There are pages and pages of more or less specific proposals, some more pleasing to conservatives, others to liberals. But here’s what I don’t get about the initial reactions,” Mr. Manacek writes. “Putting aside all the minutia and all the detail the crux of the proposal comes down to two points: Capping federal government expenditures at 22% of GDP and capping revenues at 21% of GDP.
“Each of these represents a big problem. The first is on the spending side. Except for the anomalous stimulus bailout recession years of 2009 and 2011, federal government expenditures haven’t reached 21% of GDP since the collapse of the Soviet Union,” and Mr. Manacek writes here, “Except for the anomalous stimulus bailout recession years 2009 and 2011.” The whole point — if you want to really know the dirty little secret (I know I overuse that phrase) — the truth about the stimulus package was to increase the baseline on which future budgets are built. In two years, they increased the baseline around 20%, maybe even more. He’s out there saying, “shovel-ready jobs,” and then he said there aren’t any shovel-ready jobs. It was never about jobs as we know.
There weren’t any jobs that were created. We continued to lose jobs. It was rhetoric. Jobs created, jobs saved? This was about massively increasing the budget for all time. That’s what the stimulus bill was, to up the baseline. Now, those of you have been regular listeners since the early nineties know all about baseline budgeting. We spent a week explaining it to you. The baseline is simply the amount every year that every budget item is based on, whether the item is overfunded or underfunded, it doesn’t matter. So when Mr. Manacek writes here, “Except for the anomalous stimulus bailout recession years of 2009 and 2011, federal government expenditures have not reached 21% of GDP since the collapse of the Soviet Union.”
But they did with the stimulus. Permanently. The stimulus raised the baseline, and so now this debt commission comes up and says, “We’re gonna cap federal government expenditures at 22%.” But the problem is we’ve never spent 22% of GDP. Since World War II. Spending only competed 21% of GDP during the Reagan-Bush military buildup of the eighties and nineties. For virtually all of the Clinton and George W. Bush years and during all the Kennedy-Johnson-Nixon years, federal spending ranged between 18 and 20% of GDP”, and this deficit report caps it at 22%. It raises the baseline exactly what the stimulus was.
This thing is a blueprint for the expansion of government and codifying it as law, at 22%, when we’ve never spent that, up until Obama shows up. That’s one side of this. “The more important problem is on the revenue side. According to OMB figures, federal revenues have never reached 21% of GDP. That’s what they are targeted to be in this initial report that came out yesterday. In fact, only in Bill Clinton’s final year in office and during World War II did revenues even exceed 20% of GDP. During the whole time from 1960 to 2008, federal tax revenues almost always fell between 17 and 19% of GDP, only occasionally rising above 19%, chiefly in Clinton’s second term or below 17%, George W. Bush’s first term.”
Look, there’s a lot of numbers here. The bottom line is federal spending has never been as high as what this deficit commission report suggests, and federal taxes have never been as high as what this deficit commission report suggests. This is a trick, and it’s got all the Reagan language in there and it’s got all the stuff that sucks our side into saying, “Ohh, yeah, we’ll look at this.” You got the left not liking it because they don’t like the ratio of 75% spending cuts and 25% tax cuts, but there isn’t any cutting! It’s just like every year of the federal budget: There’s nothing being cut here. Taxes, spending, zilch. It’s all going up to unprecedented levels in our history and that’s the truth about this.

RUSH: One more reason to totally ignore the commissioner’s report yesterday on the deficit reduction panel report. They don’t even mention getting rid of health care, and if you are serious about reducing government, if you’re serious about tackling our debt, you gotta repeal it. You cannot have any element of it. They don’t even talk about it. It’s just baseless. Well, it isn’t baseless. It’s dangerous what this report does ’cause it’s a trick. It’s sucking our guys in, “Oh, wow, look, Reagan language in there, broadening the base, oh, yeah, I kinda dig the lower rates in there, I really do, love the spending to tax cut ratio.” Take your cue from the left. They hate it. They hate it, and they’re stupid. If they understood what this thing actually proposed they’d be out there trying to get it passed today.

RUSH: Let’s move on to Alan Simpson Babe. By the way, people are asking, “What are you calling him Alan Simpson Babe for?” Because he calls me Rush Babe. When he was named to this commission, he said, “I know Rush Babe isn’t gonna like it. Rush Babe’s got a problem with me.” I never have had a problem with Senator Simpson. He’s from Wyoming, a great state. He calls me Rush Babe so I’m calling him Alan Simpson Babe. Yesterday on Capitol Hill, the bipartisan debt commission press conference, this is Alan Simpson.
SIMPSON: We have harpooned every whale in the ocean, and some of the minnows, and no one has ever done that before. I feel like we ought to be in a witness protection program when this is over, so look us up.
RUSH: Yeah, well, the truth of the matter is, if you look at this, I don’t want to be redundant here, but this is a boondoggle, folks, it’s a mistake, it’s a trick. This thing locks in levels of federal spending and taxation. It’s not gonna get adopted, either. This is not going to be adopted in its form. I don’t know what they’re doing, trial ballooning it or what. But the thing that these two guys presented yesterday locks in federal spending at levels that we’ve never reached other than during anomalies, and federal tax levels that we’ve never had. Forget everything else you know about it. The report yesterday locks in the concept of an ever-expanding government. It does not change one premise. It does not suggest reforming, repealing, getting rid of health care. Now, if you’re in part of a deficit reduction panel and you don’t even talk about the health care bill, you are not serious. This thing locks in the Nanny State. This thing locks in socialism. Here’s Anthony Weiner last night on PMSNBC. “Anybody gonna like this plan? Anybody?”
WEINER: What’s infuriating, putting aside the content, never mind it’s not a plan to reduce the deficit, so much (as) a plan to reduce seniors and reduce just about anyone else. This is very bad.
RUSH: Well, okay, so reduce seniors. That’s what health care’s gonna do, Mr. Weiner. Health care is gonna reduce seniors, and reduce just about everything else. By the way, here’s another thing, just to show you that this thing is not serious and it isn’t going to fly. You know, every year the Congress does a budget, president submits his version, and the budget includes things that happen five years out, ten years out. But have you ever noticed those things are never locked in? They can’t be. The budget is for one year and the next year’s Congress redoes it, to hell with what it said. The only reason these Bush tax cuts survived is because they happened during reconciliation, and that’s why they sunset. It’s a whole different matter. The retirement age for Social Security goes up to 69 in 2050? I’m sorry. Does anybody think that the people and a Congress in 2050 are gonna live with what the yokels in 2010 wrote? Would we sit here and live with what the yokels in 1970 wrote for us? In large part we are on the entitlement side, but look at where it’s got us. They’re not gonna put up with it. You can’t come up with a plan that’s gonna lock the country in 50 years down the road and people not even born yet, affected by it, not change it and put up with it.

Can you believe, that among those working against the Church on pro-life health care were educators at our Catholic colleges? The Catholics who lobbied and voted for Obamacare caused “confusion and a wound to Catholic unity,” according to Cardinal Daniel DiNardo. And now they will fight any repeal. How about this? The powerful Equal Employment Opportunity Commission now includes a former Catholic law school professor who poses a grave danger to the most faithful Catholic institutions! Now is the time when faithful Catholics need to stand up in defense of the Faith and oppose the secular assault on morality and religious liberty. There is an organization that is doing both, and they need your help. The Cardinal Newman Society exposes dissent and scandal at America’s Catholic colleges and promotes faithful renewal of Catholic identity. The Society also promotes the best Catholic colleges and defends them against federal and state encroachment on their religious liberty. We cannot ignore the fact that the rights of faithful Catholics and our most faithful Catholic colleges are in serious danger… …even while certain wayward Catholic colleges employ and honor dissenters who actively undermine the Church on abortion, marriage, healthcare and conscience protections! Because the stakes are high—and we may only have a two-year window in Congress! You may have heard that President Obama’s latest addition to the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) is a same-sex marriage advocate whose concept of “sexual liberty” could trump the religious liberty of Catholics. Her credentials for this key position? Since 1991, Chai Feldblum has been a celebrated professor at Georgetown Law Center—at a Jesuit Catholic university. While at Georgetown, she helped author the “Employment Non-Discrimination Act” (ENDA). This bill could cripple Catholic colleges, schools and hospitals by forcing them to provide benefits to same-sex couples. Now Feldblum’s EEOC is weighing an appeal by Belmont Abbey College, a faithful Catholic college, which has been ordered by local EEOC officials to cover birth control pills in its employee health plan—a violation of the college’s Catholic beliefs. If the appeal is denied, Catholic colleges and other Catholic organizations could be forced to shut down rather than compromise their Catholic identity! The Society has publicly defended Belmont Abbey while recruiting legal and insurance experts to advise Catholic colleges on how to protect their Catholic identity. And they are working with Catholic Bishops to mount a strong defense against state and federal violations of religious liberty. The problem, of course, is that even some Catholics would undermine the Church! SARGODHA, Pakistan, April 28 (CDN) — A Christian barber in this Punjab Province city is still recovering from broken bones and other injuries sustained earlier this month after eight Muslims allegedly beat and sodomized him for cutting the beard of a Muslim.
Marwat Masih, 29, initially refused the request of 19-year-old Qandeel Cheema to cut his beard in Sargodha’s Gulshan-e-Bashir town on April 13, knowing that area Sunni Muslims believe the Quran prohibits it. But Cheema, a high school student, told Masih that he had lived and studied in Lahore and therefore wanted a more modern look, the bed-ridden and feeble Masih told Compass.
“I refused to shave his beard, but he showed me his packed bags and said that he would leave the town straight after the shave, and so no one would ever know that I had shaved his beard,” Masih said.
Eyewitnesses told Compass that as Masih was cutting Cheema’s beard, the client’s older brother – local radical Muslim land owner Shakeel Cheema – was returning by tractor from his fields and, noting the family Jeep in front of the Marwat Hair Stylist shop, stopped in.
“When Shakeel Cheema saw me shaving his younger brother’s beard, he became angry and started vandalizing mirrors, the sound system and chairs, and he desecrated a wooden cross perched on the top of the front mirrors,” Masih said. “He also started beating my head with his shoes.”
Eyewitnesses told Compass that Shakeel Cheema shouted orders to his companions to tie Masih up and throw him into the wagon attached to his tractor, and that he ordered his younger brother to leave for Lahore at once.
Masih said that he was blindfolded with a black cloth and taken to an unknown place where he was locked in a room. An hour later, Shakeel Cheema and seven others arrived and began striking him with clubs, breaking his ribs, a wrist and leg bones.
“Shakeel Cheema said, ‘Now we are going to teach you a real lesson for shaving the beard of a Muslim man,” Masih said, and after a long, pained pause he related how Cheema and the seven others sodomized him. “I started bleeding and fell unconscious.”
His father, Laal Masih, older brother Hassrat Masih and other relatives had begun searching for him, and after midnight that night they found him lying half-naked and unconscious off the main street of Gulshan-e-Bashir town, his father told Compass. They immediately took him to Rural Health Centre, where doctors kept him under observation for two days and treated him for internal bleeding and the broken ribs, leg bones and wrist.

“We submitted an application to the Saddr police twice, but they took no action against Shakeel Cheema and his accomplices,” Laal Masih said. The family is appealing to Christian ministers and parliamentarians for assistance.

Police have refused to file a First Information Report against Cheema and his accomplices, who all remained at large at press time.

Fathima Rifqa Bary, the Muslim teenager who converted to Christianity at least four years ago but who only recently ran away, has been taken away from the two good Samaritan Christian pastors who took her in and is now in state custody in Florida. On Friday, a judge will decide whether her case should be heard in Florida or in Ohio. Her parents have “lawyered” up, her father Mohamed Bary, a jeweler, insists that he never threatened to kill her, that he wants her to come home. The mainstream media is getting nervous. What if they believe what Rifqa says and they end up sued? Or worse?
After all, the Columbus police have challenged the girl’s claim that she is in danger. Sgt Jerry Cupp, chief of the Columbus police missing person’s bureau, has said that “Mohamed Bary comes across to me as a loving, caring, worried father about the whereabouts and the health of his daughter.”
So much for Ohio. But allow me to point out that for weeks, Mohammed Shafi and his second wife, Rona Amir Mohammed, wept, mourned, and generally carried on about the deaths of their three daughters and of Mohammed’s first wife–until the police arrested both Mohammed and Rona, along with one of their sons, for having been behind these heinous, heartless, murders.
Now, Florida Imam Hatim Hamidullah, with the Islamic Society of Central Florida, has informed us that the Muslim faith does not call for a father to hurt his child, should she convert to another religion.
“It is not Islam for the father to bring harm upon his blood daughter or any other human being because of anger,” he said. “Our position is to exhaust all measures that would bring peace and harmony back to the family,” Hamidullah said. “Being angry and threatening the life of someone is not one of those methods.”
Someone has got to explain the technique of taqiyya (the high Islamic Art of disinformation) to the Ohio police, to the judiciary in both Ohio and Florida, and to the mainstream media.

We do not give the father of lies credit for being a reliable witness in such matters as the crucifixion, even if there is no doubt that many devils were personal witnesses to the crucifixion of Christ. In like manner I would have no one believe that we know for certain that Judas is in hell, just because he claimed that he was one of the damned in the case of possession at Earling. Holy Mother Church has never yet given a decision regarding this matter even though the words of our Saviour about Judas are thought- provoking: “It would have been better if that man had never been born.”

Lawmakers who described the alleged effects of global warming are spreading a lot of “eye wash,” a top climate scientist says. In an exclusive interview with Newsmax, S. Fred Singer, a renowned climatologist and professor of environmental sciences emeritus at the University of Virginia, discussed the background behind the recent open letter to Congress he and six other scientists sent to members of the House and Senate. In the letter, the scientists cited a letter sent by the Woods Hole Research Center, which exhorted Congress to act quickly to avoid a global disaster due to alleged global warming. Singer said the Woods Hole group “put on a sort of scary exaggerated kind of letter to Congress ahead of the vote in the House in an obvious attempt to stampede them into voting for the Waxman-Markey [cap and trade environmental] bill. Singer explained: “We thought it would be useful to write a letter that would provide a balance. The instigator of the letter was Harold Lewis, a retired professor of physics at the University of California in Santa Barbara.” Lewis, he said, “provided the initial draft, several of us made comments and seven of us signed our names to it.” Lewis sent the letter “to every member of Congress … and it was also sent to a number of bloggers and others who are generally sympathetic” to the group’s point of view. “The letter itself is self-explanatory,” Singer said, noting that it did not “give much detail.” “Two of us, Richard Lindzen and myself, are actively working on climate issues. The others are renowned physicists – people of some stature, members of the National Academy and others who have a good amount of scientific judgment but who have not directly published or been pre-eminent in climate research.” Asked if it is not established that the earth is cooling, Singer explained that “The earth is either always warming or cooling; one cannot tell which it is unless one specifies the time interval. “It’s like the stock market: it is rising or falling. Both depend on whether it’s a week or a month or a year. It’s the same with the temperature – if we start during the last Ice Age 15,000 years ago, then the temperatures have warmed. If you start from the Little Ice Age, which ended 200 years ago, it certainly has warmed. “If you start from 1998, however, then it has not warmed – it has cooled. So it depends on the time interval. People argue about this, and much of the difference between groups comes about when you don’t specify the time interval. There’s no question that the climate has not been warming in the last 10 years.” Reminded that there were members of Congress standing up in the debate and talking about the terrible things that are happening now as a result of global warming, Singer said: “That’s all eye wash. That’s not true. That’s simply hype.” He went on to explain that “Nothing untoward is happening. The ice is not melting any faster, the sea level is not rising any faster. Hurricanes are not increasing in intensity or frequency; there’s been no impact. Those things are always hard to measure. It depends on statistics. The easiest thing is to specify temperature, because it’s easily measured and there is relatively little disagreement on what temperature stands for.” He then went on to challenge what he called former Vice President Al Gore’s “mantra” that he says Gore’s “been handing out for years now – that the science is settled. That is simply not true. “When you have 31,000 scientists signing the Oregon petition saying they disagree with the current wisdom that humans are producing increased warming, it speaks for itself. It’s true that the 31,000 are not all climate scientists. There are not that many in the world. “However, it does show you that the science is not settled. Among climate scientists there is a split. There are those who believe in models, and those who believe in observations. And there are some who don’t believe in both, and some who don’t believe in any. “The modelers believe that the models correctly describe what’s going on in the atmosphere, and they trust their models to predict the future. And the models all predict increased global warming. Some more, some less. There are plenty models in the world, and they all get different results. We don’t know which one of them is correct, if any, or even if any of them is correct. Then there are those – sometimes called the skeptics, but we prefer to call them the realists – who believe in the observations, who believe that the atmosphere tells us what’s going on. The models try to describe what’s going on in the atmosphere, but they don’t succeed. It’s extremely difficult – the atmosphere is very complicated. For example, the models can’t really describe clouds. Yet clouds are very, very important. So that’s the basic split. “When the observations show that the climate has not been warming in the last 10 years, which contradicts the models, who are you going to believe? The models or the observations.
