Remember career politician Bob Etheridge? The North Carolina Democrat was considered a shoo-in for reelection to the U.S. House of Representatives on November 2. That was until he became unglued and assaulted a man merely for asking the congressman if supported the Obama agenda.
Apparently Etheridge’s behavior did not sit well with the electorate. Come January, Etheridge will no longer be representing the state’s 2nd Congressional district. Registered nurse Renee Ellmers, a Tea Party-endorsed Republican and Obamacare foe, has been declared the winner after a recount according to WRAL.com. State officials are expected to certify the election results early next week but Etheridge has now conceded.
Before entering politics, Ellmers was the Clinical Director of the Christian Trinity Wound Care Center in Dunn, North Carolina, where she worked with her husband, a surgeon.
Ellmers has been in Washington attending the freshman orientation on Capitol Hill in anticipation of being declared the winner.
