Kiev, Ukraine’s Opposition Bloc To Protect Vote Counting In Forthcoming Elections!

KIEV, October 19. /TASS/. Ukraine’ party Opposition Bloc will hold its own parallel vote counting and will video shoot all violations and attempts to rig votes at the parliament elections due on October 26, Yuri Miroshnichenko, a party’s leader and candidate for a seat in the Ukrainian parliament, said on Sunday.

“The Opposition Bloc will not let the authorities falsify the forthcoming elections,” he pledged.

“We will watch closely to make sure the elections are democratic, transparent and fair. We will monitor the vote counting too. We will not let the authorities manipulate with the number of constituencies in Donbass. We are beginning a larcge-scale programme for fair elections.”

The party plans to organize a headquarters in Kiev to collect data on falsification attempts from the entire Ukraine. “We invite international organizations, which are tasked to monitor elections, and journalists to join,” he said.

The party also demands President Petro Poroshenko “ensure equal rights and possibilities to all participants in the election process at the elections to the Verkhovna Rada /parliament/ and keep up the reputation of the state.”

Miroshnichenko reminded that the Verkhovna Rada planned to discuss amendments to election laws at its session on Monday, October 20. “Just six days before the voting, the authorities seek to push through the parliament amendments to the election laws to their advantage,” he noted.

The Opposition Bloc includes six parties, namely the Party of Ukraine’s Development, the parties Centre, New Policy, State Neutrality, Forward, Ukraine, and Labour Ukraine.
